♐️ A Full Moon in Sagittarius: Reclaiming Your Inner Compass 🧭
An expansive full moon arrives inviting you to sort signal from noise and trust what you already know.
Some full moons come and go with barely a whisper. This one feels like a horizon opening.
On 31 May, we have a Full Moon at 9° Sagittarius. As the second full moon of May, it is technically a Blue Moon — a relative rarity. Something is ripening. Something is asking to be seen clearly. For many of us, that clarity touches on what gives our lives meaning, where we crave more freedom, and which beliefs or activities are steering us off course. With the Sun opposite in Gemini, separating from its recent conjunction with revolutionary Uranus, along with Mercury, there is a distinct flavour of disruption to the status quo in the air.
The Sagittarius Invitation
Sagittarius, ruled by the great benefic Jupiter, is an expansive sign that denotes wisdom, not just information or mere knowledge. It represents the bigger picture, a truer philosophy, the courage to live in alignment with what actually feels meaningful. Under this full moon, we become more aware of the gap between mental noise and real guidance.
The Gemini–Sagittarius axis is always concerned with this tension: facts versus wisdom, busyness versus truth, distraction versus direction. When the moon is full in Sagittarius, what has been quietly building beneath the surface is illuminated — so we can see what no longer aligns and what is calling us forward.
This is why the energy can feel both inspiring and sobering. Sagittarius invites us to dream bigger, but it also asks for honesty. What story have you outgrown? What inner truth keeps returning no matter how many times you try to push it aside? What would shift if you trusted the wider vision for your life that has been trying to emerge?
The Supporting Astrology
This full moon is well supported. A strong trine to Saturn in Aries offers steadiness and mature follow-through. Insight matters, but Saturn reminds us that knowledge becomes wisdom when it is structurally lived. It helps us sort signal from noise, choose what genuinely matters, and commit to the next steps with integrity. If Sagittarius opens the vista, Saturn helps us build the road.
A strong trine to Pallas Athena in Aries also brings strategic wisdom as well as pattern recognition — helpful if recent weeks have felt scattered. A trine to Vesta strengthens the inner flame of sovereignty and sacred devotion. Together, these aspects point to inner authority: you may already know more than you think you do, and sense what deserves your energy and what does not. Vesta also signifies the home and hearth, and with the full moon ruler, Jupiter, currently in his exaltation in Cancer, themes of home-life, nurturing and truly being “at home” with oneself could be highlighted.
A strong sextile to Juno in Aquarius adds relational depth, inviting us to consider where loyalty, commitment, and mutual purpose are calling for attention. Which intimate connections support your path toward truth and which ask you to diminish yourself in order to belong? This moon illuminates not just personal freedom, but the need for the kind of partnerships that honour it. Whether you recognise the importance of having such supportive relationships or the opportunity to develop one may also come to light.
Tracing the Thread Back
It may be helpful to look back to the weeks following the Sagittarius New Moon of 20th December 2025. Life narratives, choices, or inner stirrings from that time may now be reaching a point of culmination. Full moons often reveal the outcome of a process already underway, and tracing that thread can offer real insight into what is ripening now.
How to Work With This Moon
I would encourage contemplation and journaling with this moon rather than rushing straight into any action that the fiery energy of both Sagittarius and Aries brings. Let understanding deepen. Let your own wise counsel become more grounded. The invitation is to listen, widen your perspective, be open to inspirational ideas, and become more honest about what freedom, meaning, and purpose actually mean for you.
This moon does not ask for perfection. It asks for honest perspective. Even a subtle shift in understanding can open an entirely different road. One more aligned to your innate being.
Journal Prompts for the Sagittarius Full Moon
Sit quietly, breathe, and let these questions find you:
Where am I directing my attention right now — and is it aligned with what truly matters to me?
Do I have healthly relationships that support me and my inner truth?
Whose counsel genuinely helps me, and what is simply noise or distraction?
Where and how do I find meaning and purpose?
What (or who) is restricting my freedom to follow my own true path?
What truth am I finally ready to acknowledge?
What, honestly, do I intend to do about it?
I would love to hear what this moon stirs for you. Feel free to share in the comments below.
Working With the Deeper Questions
If you find yourself at a crossroads — quietly wrestling with questions of meaning, purpose, or direction — an astrology consultation can offer a surprisingly grounding perspective. Your birth chart is a map of your gifts, and your deeper drives and Soul purpose. When life feels uncertain, or you sense that something needs to shift but cannot quite name it, exploring that through your chart can bring real clarity. Not answers handed to you from outside, but the kind of recognition that comes from seeing your own patterns and gifts illuminated. If that feels relevant, you can book a consultation here
