“Are you brave enough to begin again?” Asks the Aries New Moon
A new growth cycle incoming
Something is asking you to be braver than you may feel ready to be. Perhaps it has shown up as a wound you thought was healed, a truth you have been circling without quite speaking, or a version of yourself you have glimpsed but not yet dared to inhabit.
The Aries New Moon on 17th April at 12:51 pm UK time, arrives at 27° of this initiating sign, in the close company of Chiron the Wounded Healer and dwarf planet Eris. Yes, that Eris, the goddess who threw the golden apple not out of spite, but because she refused to pretend that everything was fine when it was not. Eris does not make peace with false harmony. She names what has been excluded, what has been dismissed, what has been quietly swallowed to keep others comfortable. And in this sky, she stands alongside Chiron to ask you a pointed question: what part of yourself have you abandoned in order to belong?
This New Moon presents valuable opportunities for personal growth, healing or service. Life’s events can prompt reflection and action on your true purpose, encouraging healing on all levels – physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. Take time to identify any barriers to your authenticity and seek support if needed. Dreams and memories can offer guidance for change, helping you uncover hidden strengths, new directions and desires.
This fiery Aries New Moon is not asking you to have it all figured out. It is asking something harder and more hopeful than that. It is asking you to begin anyway. Because here is what this sky knows, even if you have forgotten it: the wound is never the end of the story. It is always the threshold.
At the time of the New Moon, Mars, also in its domain of Aries, is applying to a conjunction with a recently rebirthed Saturn, providing structure and discipline for your efforts and long-term plans or desires. While decisive action is encouraged, trying to push through any external constraints may prove frustrating or even dangerous; instead, take baby steps, plan and work within any limitations from Saturn, aware of the potential for conflict.
Mars in sextile to Pluto in Aquarius also makes this a good time for working towards transformative and positive objectives, particularly those in collaboration with others. Meanwhile, physical outlets will help redirect any excess energy and avoid aggression.
This New Moon heralds the end of a cycle that commenced in April 2023 and a new three-year cycle of growth in your whole sign house of Aries; it is both an accumulation point and a time for planting new seeds within the potent soil of its fiery promise.
And if you're feeling that call to action before the New Moon, you're feeling Mars’ ingress into Aries on April 9th and his conjunction with Neptune on April 13th. Following the New Moon, Mars will conjunct Saturn (April 19th) and Mercury on the 20th. April really is a month of Mars action, and your Aries house is the focal point for your life’s current trajectory right up until he slips into Taurus on May 18th. The diagram below gives you a brief outline of the life areas assigned to each house.
