Dear Dark Moon
A poetic response to the dark of the new moon
Drowning in your Plutonian depths
merciless in your drawing forth
of all things bare and done
hallowed, raven, downwards
we go again
deep and deeper still
layers upon layers
drawing me down
beyond the pit of my despair
seeking the light
I peel away the pain
layer upon layer
until suddenly
relief from fear
I soar upon your cosmic ray
free at last to live
another day.
The new moon as seen from space rather than Earth!
